Tablets challenge PCs as leading digital video channel in the US
According to eMarketer estimates, tablets will overtake online video—that is, on desktops and laptops—in the near future as the leading device for watching digital video.
In 2014, tablet video viewing is outpacing time spent with video on smartphones, gaining more share of overall mobile video time year over year. Besides, in 2014, US adults’ time spent with video on tablets will grow by 54% to reach 20 minutes daily. This comes close to the 22 minutes spent with video on PCs.
These figures highlight the important role that tablet is playing in the advertising landscape and in the e-commerce landscape. Indeed, as ownership of tablets becomes more widespread among consumers, they are increasingly use this device more often to shop where and when they want.
