Mobile games will overtake PC games in 2015, according to Gartner

According to figures published yesterday by Gartner, the worldwide video game market is driven by mobile games which will grow 42% this year to reach $13.2 billion. With the increasing adoption of smartphones and tablets, mobile games are the fastest-growing segment of the market with revenue set to increase 29.8% in 2014 and 28.4% in 2015.
By 2015, mobile games will generate 20% of total video game revenue and will overtake traditional PC games.

Overall, the worldwide video game market, which includes video game console hardware and software, online, mobile and PC games, will increase 18.9% this year and is expected to grow by 8.9% next year surpassing the $100 billion dollars.
