Western European revenues from direct carrier billing will increase more than 5-fold between 2014 and 2019
According to a recent study titled « The future of carrier billing in Europe » released by Juniper Research and DIMOCO, the value of digital content billed via carrier billing in Western Europe will increase more than five-fold between 2014 and 2019.
By 2019, revenues from digital content billed via carrier billing in this region will reach EUR 8.8 billion in 2019, accounting for 27% of all Western European digital content.
The paper unveils that carrier billing will allow vendors to profit from 60% higher conversion rates for first time transactions and 70% higher conversion rates for second transactions compared with credit card billing.
According to the report, carrier billing is also the user-preferred payment option for billing digital content as 75% of European users prefer carrier billing if the payment option is available in digital content storefronts.
