Internet will overtake TV globally in ad spending next year

Internet is expected to become the largest medium for advertising in 2016, according to the latest International ad forecast from Warc.

Across all key markets covered* in this report, Internet adspend is expected to register rapid growth, rising 16.1% in 2015 and 12.9% in 2016.




More broadly, Warc forecasts a rise of 4.5% in total global adspend in 2016 – almost double the rate expected this year. Major events such as the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and the US presidential election will help to boost spend, along with brighter economic prospects across our key markets.
